Lily Divino, LCSW, MPH - Caucus Councilor

Lily Divino, LCSW, MPH is a Clinical Social Worker and the Rape Crisis Coordinator at The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center in upper Manhattan. Her main areas of interest include sexual assault, domestic violence, teen relationship abuse, adolescent health, immigrant health, and cultural competency. In 2006, she served as the first Communications Chair of the Executive Committee of the Asian and Pacific Islander Caucus in official relations with the American Public Health Association.

Ms. Divino’s work with the Filipino-American community began by volunteering with the New York University Center for the Study of Asian American Health, assisting with the Filipino-American Health Outreach Project. Following she co-founded the Kalusugan Coalition, Inc. (KC), a multidisciplinary collaboration to improve the health of the Filipino community in New York City/Jersey City. She was the initial chair of KC’s Coalition Development Taskforce and the Capacity Building Coordinator for the Community-based Participatory Research Taskforce of Project AsPIRE, a grant funded by the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities, targeting cardiovascular disease among Filipinos.

She received her MS in Social Work, Clinical Practice from Columbia University School of Social Work and her MPH, Sociomedical Sciences-Health Promotion/Disease Prevention, from the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University. Her BA is in Studio Arts/Pre-Medical Program from the College of the Holy Cross. She is also a former volunteer of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps: Southwest (San Jose, CA). She enjoys drawing, writing, singing, cooking and is the creator of a lil’ design, designing wedding invitations, event programs, and greeting cards.
